Plant-based Citronellal is a highly versatile molecule which also stands out in the field of Biocides as a substance with a future. Citronellal is a repellent and insecticide which acts against flying and crawling insects. It also has an antifungal effect.

A MOLECULE already found in our daily lives

Citronellal is an orange-yellow unsaturated monoterpene aldehyde with a characteristic lemony fragrance. It forms the major part of Citronella and Lemon Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Citriodora) Essential Oils. In addition to its insecticidal and repellent potential, Citronellal also has antiseptic, antifungal, antiviral and analgesic properties.

ASTARTE® CITRONELLAL, effectiveness goes hand in hand with safety

Our expertise consists of formulating the Citronellal Active Substance in a unique and patented manner, to enhance its performance in terms of effectiveness and rapidity while preserving its toxicological and environmental characteristics. As Citronellal, in its basic form, is insoluble in water, we developed a full range of water-solubilised solutions, called ASTARTE®.

MA (Marketing Authorisation) applications are currently underway, in accordance with the Biocidal Products Regulation. The Citronellal Active Substance is authorised and features in Appendix 1 of the Biocidal Products Regulation.

ASTARTE® CITRONELLAL and Peppermint

One of our formulas combines two active substances, Citronellal and Peppermint Essential Oil. Peppermint Essential Oil is a plant resource which helps increase the versatility of this ASTARTE® product. It enhances our formula and has a pleasant fragrance.
