GERANIOL the biocidal active ingredient of the future
Plant-based Geraniol is a highly versatile molecule which stands out in the field of biocides as a substance with a future. Geraniol is known for its repellent, insecticidal properties, and has a reputation for being one of the best larvicidal substances. In its raw state however, this molecule cannot replace traditional chemical insecticides. Despite its outstanding versatility, Geraniol alone is not sufficiently fast, effective or persistent. It is a source of inspiration for Green Chemistry. This is how we created the ASTARTE® range.

AN ACTIVE SUBSTANCE already found in our daily lives
The Geraniol molecule is found in its raw state in most essential oils produced by plants, such as Palmarosa, Geranium, Lemon and Citronella oil. It is also found in ginger, carrot and lily-of-the-valley. Even bees naturally produce Geraniol and use it to locate their hive.

Our expertise consists of formulating the Geraniol Active Substance in a unique and patented manner, to enhance effectiveness and rapidity, while reserving and even improving its toxicological and environmental characteristics. Therefore the toxicity and ecotoxicity of our ASTARTE® formulas are equivalent, if not superior, to those of Geraniol in its raw state.
As Geraniol is insoluble in water in its basic form, we developed a full range of water-solubilised solutions called ASTARTE®.
